One Day Farmers Training on

Interventions of Agricultural Engineering for Precision Agriculture

     Under the inspiration of Dr. V. P. Chovatia, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, JAU, Junagadh Centre of Excellence on Soil and Water Management, Office of the Research Scientist (Agril. Engg.) at JAU, in collaboration with AICRP on PEASEM, Dept. of REE, CAET, JAU, Junagadh, organized a one-day farmers' training program entitled "Interventions of Agricultural Engineering for Precision Agriculture" on June 9, 2023. The program aimed to empower farmers with the knowledge and practical skills to embrace precision agriculture techniques.

    The training programme was inaugurated by Dr. H. M. Gajipara, Director of Research and Director of Extension Education, JAU in auspicious presence of Dr. N. K. Gontia, Principal and Dean, CAET. JAU. Junagadh. Dr. G. V. Prajapati, Research Scientist (Agri. Engg.) and Research Engineer, AICRP on PEASEM coordinated the training. A total of 40 farmers of 16 villages of Junagadh & Amreli district participated in the training. Lectures on Use of information technology in agriculture, drone technology for spraying pesticides and fertilizers, advanced processing technology, automation in irrigation were delivered by scientists of the University. Three pamphlets “Cultivation of wheat crop by drip irrigation system”, “Application of drip irrigation system in fennel crop”, and “Effect of drip fertigation on brinjal crop” were also released by the distinguished guest during the training programme. Demonstration of automation in irrigation, agricultural equipment, solar tunnel dryer, foldable container for transportation of horticulture produce were also done by scientists of the University.
