Ms. Dodiya Drashti (Enrol. No. 3010123032) and Mr. Dodiya Rohan (Enrol. No.: 3010123033), students pursuing third semester B. Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture at CoA, JAU, Junagadh, competed in the RBI@90 National Quiz and got selected to participate in the state-level round. The RBI Regional Office, Ahmedabad, organized the state-level round on November 19, 2024, at Hyatt Regency, Ahmedabad, to commemorate the 90 glorious years of completion of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The inaugural event was graced by the Directors of the Regional Offices of the RBI NABARD and a galaxy of other banking luminaries.

     In the first phase of the quiz conducted online, almost 3600 student teams (of two students each) registered for participation from the state of Gujarat and the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. From the teams registered, 850 teams were found eligible to participate in the preliminary online round by the organizers, including 15 student teams from JAU. The online quiz round was conducted during September 17-21, 2024. All the students participating from JAU received certificates of participation.

     Among the 850 contesting teams from Gujarat state and the union territory in the online quiz round, the top 75 teams were selected for the state-level round based on their scores, including the team comprising Drashti Dodiya and Rohan Dodiya from the college. Upon subsequent verification from the RBI authorities, the selection of the team for the state-level round was further confirmed. In the state-level round, the college team participated in the preliminary round of 30 questions and narrowly missed its chance to proceed to the next stage of the state-level round. The students were given certificates by the RBI Regional Office, Ahmedabad, to commend their selection to the state-level round and for coming up with their best in answering not-so-easy questions covering a gamut of subjects, including the history of RBI, India’s financial sector, trivia on India, world history, current affairs, technology and so on. Dr. B. Swaminathan, Asstt. Prof. (Economics) coordinated the event as the team manager, and the team was ably guided by Dr. K. D. Kumawat, Principal & Dean, and Dr. R. M. Solanki, Director of Students’ Welfare.
